"A lone, lonely voice"

Mark 10:47-48 KJV – “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”

“Jesus stood still.”

A lone voice

in a sea of thousands

caused the Majesty of Heaven …

to pause.

One lonely voice.

Among thousands.

How? Why?

A true miracle.

The ultimate paradox!

A blind man who sees,

Among watchers with no sight!

“Jesus, thou Son of David,

have mercy on me!”

A blind man sees

his Messiah and King!

While thousands bright-eyed

could not see a thing!

The crowd heard his plea,

tried to silence his voice.

Bartimaeus cried louder ––

faith had made its choice.

His heart moved with compassion;

Christ called out his name.

To the blind man of faith,

the divine answer finally came.

Such great faith!

Such great blindness!

They heard His Word,

saw great works of kindness.

But …

He called to Bartimaeus

and cured his blindness.

And still ...

they didn’t believe.

I've always believed that words have the power to change hearts, challenge minds, awaken forgotten sensibilities that lie deep within us, and inspre us to reach the lofty spiritual heights that God has ordained for us all. I write because I fell the need to wrestle with the hard questions of faith and identity in Jesus Christ. I write because I seek to unveil and examine the unseen battles we all face, especially the ones that are not commonly discussed but leave deep marks on the soul.
